Schmid, Ristea, Constantin and Krupadziorow Advance to the Final 16

Patrick Schmid, Cristian Ristea, Robert Constantin and Lukasz Krupadziorow are the first fighters qualified for the Superkombat Final 16 event, to be held in the autumn. The Grand Prix Tournament continues with another 4 Heavyweight Elimination fights scheduled for Madrid, Spain, on May 6th at Palacio Vistalegre.
Starting this season, Superkombat will relaunch the heavyweight division system. The season schedule will feature 4 World Grand Prix events and the fighters qualified will fight in the Final 16. The result will be that only 8 heavyweights from all around the world will face each other in the one night tournament in November.
The first World Grand Prix event of the year took place at the Romexpo Dome in Bucharest Romania and received the best tv production in the history of Superkombat to date. “This will be our new standard and we want to say thanks again to our partner Five's International”, said CEO of Superkombat, Eduard Irimia. The event will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network this Friday (April 14th) at 10:00 PM ET.
In the main-event of the night, “Big Polski” Lukasz Krupadziorow defeated the MMA KO artist, Tony Johnson jr, in the first round by Technical KO due to a cut and now he will face Catalin Morosanu in Madrid, on May 6th. “You were lucky and you didn't prove anything in this fight, we will see in Madrid how tough you are”, said Morosanu immediately after the fight. Cristian Ristea vs Dawid Zoltaszek was declared fight of the night by Eduard Irimia. After three amazing rounds, the fight ended in a draw. Under K1 rules a fourth round was needed to determine the winner. Ristea was declared the winner and he will advance to the Final 16. One day after the event, because of his bravery, Zoltaszek was awarded with a wild card so he will fight in the next World Grand Prix of the year so he still has a chance for the Final 16.
